HP P2035n prints multiple copies of documents

The HP P2035n printer has a known issue that is not well documented. If you install the printer as a network printer on a 64 bit operating system like Windows 2008 Server and share it, multiple unintended duplicate copies of documents may be printed if users print to the shared printer. Here’s how to resolve this:

[the problem]

After installing the HP P2035n printer as a shared network printer, printing documents to it may yield unwanted duplicate copies.

[solution]

[step 1] Right click the printer and select Printer Properties.

[step 2] Select the Ports tab and un-check the “Enable bidirectional printing” check box.

[step 3] Click OK.

That’s it.

      Sami,

You can try to disable LPR byte counting. It’s a check box located on the port configuration page of the printer settings (for printers setup as a network printer). If that doesn’t work I suggest switching to the Universal Print Driver (UPD).

      Cheers,
