Remove oil stains with a little powder

Working from home is great, but it usually ends up adding  some unexpected chores to your work activity. For instance, that pile of laundry that you’ve been meaning to do…now that you’re home it’d just take a couple of minutes to stick it in the washer. Those dishes in the sink, well they should go into the dishwasher, but that needs to be emptied first…the list goes on. I usually do these chores on mini-breaks from work activity such as long conference call or coding session and I’m at a point where I look forward to them as a welcome break. Here’s a quick tip I’ve picked up after a while of doing laundry.Accidentally dribbled some salad dressing on your favorite T? Who hasn’t! Unfortunately oil or grease stains usually won’t come out after a single wash which can leave you extremely embarrassed at worst or doing more laundry at best. So, here are the steps you can take to get rid of that ugly grease stain in a single wash.
[step 1] Grab the shirt with the stain and some baby powder.

[step 2] Sprinkle the powder over the stain and rub it in with your hand. Pad the powder into the stain until you see the stain turn powder white. This means the powder is sticking to the oil/grease in the stain and thus absorbing it.

[step 3] Put the shirt into a hamper for a few hours to let the powder do its job.

[step 4] Wash and dry the shirt according to its tag instructions.

[step 5] Look like a hobo no more.
That’s it.

You can also use salt, which would work faster than baby powder. But I just rub a little detergent into the stain before throwing it into the wash.
