Issues when scrolling Google News using Safari on the iPad

I’ve had this issue with the Google News page not scrolling properly on my iPad 2. At first I thought it was just an issue with Safari, because it would only happen after the page was initially loaded. It appeared as if while scrolling down something on the page updated and would automatically take me back to the top of the page. Recently, however, it’s gotten so bad that I wasn’t able to scroll down on the google news page at all. Every attempt to scroll down was interrupted by strange jitters and I’d be taken to the bottom of the page or returned to the top.

Here is how I finally figured out how to fix the problem:

[step 1] Close Safari.

[step 2] Tap Settings->Safari->Clear Cookies and Data.

That’s it.

It’s a problem on Google side. Here’s the fix. After you open Google News, immediately scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Then just scroll backwards from the bottom of page upward to view headlines. Page will remain stable when viewing Google Front Page News with this method of scrolling.
