On a recent weekend trip to Ojai I drove by this abandoned USA Oil/Gas refinery and stopped to take a few pictures. The site looks like it was initially picked over for parts, but then abandoned and left to rust for years. The entire site is like a ghost town with scattered abandoned homes in the area that have been partially boarded up. Oil pump jacks litter the surrounding landscape, some of which are still actively pumping, but the entire area around the Shell Ave exit feels like a large ghost town.Here is a gallery of pictures I took:

I know, when I first happened upon it, I felt it had a weird creepy feel to…as if you were being watched, but could see no one. Like some old Mad Max movie…lol – honestly, due to that toxic mess, I think people should boycott USA gasoline stations in Ventura. I do.
